Jam produced from whole, mature awasuzuko fruit. It has a refreshing sweet and sour flavor, pleasing mouth feel, and just an accent of bitterness. Extra flavor comes from honey derived from the flowers of the longstalk holly. *At the time of shipment, all products have at least two months to their best-by dates.
The Agriculture and Fisheries General Technology Support Center in Tokushima has been researching awasuzuko for 20 years, and this is a new variety that it registered in 2017. It was created by crossbreeding the yuzu and sudachi. Like most Japanese citrus, it has a soft aroma, and produces lots of juice. It is also distinguished by having few seeds. The skin has little bitterness, and the aroma does not change even if it is heated. The entire fruit can be eaten without peeling.
