Yamagami Fruit & Herb Garden obtained organic JAS certification for its sudachi citrus on August 19, 2025. We pursued this certification—a process that took three years—because we believe that protecting biodiversity is essential to revitalizing the local *satoyama* landscape alongside the community and to building relationships based on trust.
We cultivate our fruit trees with great care, employing methods such as improving the soil with homemade compost, preventing disease with Bordeaux mixture (which is approved for organic produce), and having staff manually remove longhorn beetles.
Grate the zest to use as a garnish for somen or udon noodles. Squeeze the juice into a chilled sports drink, or add a splash to an alcoholic beverage mixed with soda. With a vibrant acidity and subtle spiciness—distinct from both lemon and yuzu—it adds a unique twist to your everyday dishes. We invite you to give it a try.
